The Idea

Where it all began...

I’m Jenny, and I started this club because I’m obsessed with climbing and I want to share that spark with anyone who will listen. But the truth is, my journey didn’t start with confidence, it started in a car park.

A few years ago, I had a small group of friends I’d climb with. When our schedules stopped lining up, the climbing soon stopped. I had caught the bug, but I was paralyzed by the idea of going solo. It took me six months to build up the courage to show up alone, and even then, I sat in my car for twenty minutes before I could convince myself to walk through the doors.

That walk inside changed everything.

I quickly realized that the best part of climbing wasn’t being on the wall, it was being part of the community. Within an hour, total strangers were cheering me on and offering beta on my next move. In this world, it doesn’t matter if it’s your first day or your tenth year, the support is exactly the same.

I created the Lonely Climbers Club to be the bridge for anyone sitting in their car, feeling unsure. I wanted to build a space that is intentionally inclusive and alleviates the “first-time fears” but also highlights how climbing challenges the body and strengthens the mind. Whether you’re a beginner or an elite climber, I want to break down the walls holding you back. You are strong enough, you are brave enough, and at this club, you’ll always have a community rooting for you.

You don’t have to climb alone.

What's in a Name?

While the “Lonely Climbers Club” sounds like it might be a place for singles looking for a match, we’re actually all about finding new friends to climb with and supporting one another to achieve our climbing goals. The name is just our way of saying we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re a lighthearted, welcoming group that’s more interested in reaching the next hold than finding a date. So, don’t let the name fool you! You don’t have to be single, lonely or even super strong! Just come hang out, climb some boulders, and find out what we’re all about.
